For Kelsi, Romeo Salon truly means family. As a child, she would come along to her mother’s appointments and tell Frank jokes to make him laugh. Now, working at Romeo Salon is like being with her family every day, especially since her sister Lisa is also a stylist at the salon! And that is what she likes best and believes that every Romeo client will feel part of a relaxing, family focused experience.
Kelsi’s passion for creative expression lead her to the arts as a multi-genre dance instructor. Although dance remains a personal passion, she is always looking for a new challenge. She was encouraged by Lisa to pursue hair styling as well. Kelsi enjoys cutting, colouring and highlighting styles to achieve her clients best look, but her artistry is particularly evident in her updo styles. Whether it is a formal updo for a wedding, prom, or gala, Kelsi’s hair creations are fashionable and original. She aims to create something new and beautiful and is inspired by the interplay of textures and shape through the use of curl patterns and braids. In this way, Kelsi understands both the rules of styling and how to bend or even break them to create a unique and personal look.
Kelsi has two and a half years of industry experience and is a junior stylist at Romeo Salon and Spa Waterloo.
Rachel has always had her hands in hair and so it made sense for her to follow her passion for creative styles and colour. She is drawn to the fashion forward image of the industry that allows her, not only to assess what a client wants, but which products are best suited for them. Rachel believes that the salon is a place for clients to feel special as they relax.
Her passion is rooted in colouring because she enjoys being creative and also believes that anything can be fixed! In this way, there are endless possibilities for experimentation that can always be reversed. She is most comfortable in Romeo’s unique colour room. Not many salons have a dedicated space for colour work, but this is the space where Rachel can work from a personal station, one-on-one with clients, to help reach their colouring goals. Her perfectionism is clear through her colour application knowledge of varying elements such as hair type, texture, shape, and body.
Rachel is eager to expand her skills through constant learning. She makes a point to attend the ABA (Allied Beauty Association) Hair Show in Toronto where the most cutting edge products and techniques are on display. Rachel also looks forward to any opportunity to travel and see how styling and colouring is done all over the world. She is excited to share her experience and knowledge with clients and looks forward to growing with Romeo Salon.
Rachel has two years of industry experience and is an assistant at Romeo Salon and Spa Waterloo.
